Myra Batchelder and Leila Darabi founded the Repro Health Happy Hour (RHHH) in 2004 in an attempt to meet other people working in the field of sexual and reproductive health,  rights, and justice in New York City. The goal was to create a fun networking space not affiliated with any organization and open to all pro-choice New Yorkers.

Today, the original New York City happy hour listserv includes more than 1500 members and the event has inspired happy hours in more than 30 cities around the world.
